Education

B.S. Biomedical Engineering, May 2011 Concentration in Nanotechnology, May 2011 M.Eng Photonics, May 2012 Boston University I am currently working towards my PhD in Electrical Engineering (Photonics/Electromagnetics concentration) at the University of Delaware.

Experience

The subjects I have previous experience tutoring students in are (ranked from most experience to least): Algebra, Physics (up to Solid State/Semiconductor), Calculus (I, II, III, or Differential), SAT, GRE, GMAT, Precalculus (Trig & Analysis), Geometry, Guitar, Boxing, Optics/Photonics/Lasers. There are other subjects that I can tutor, but aren't listed here. If you are looking for help in something obscure and want to know if I have any experience in it, don't hesitate to ask! I received a score of 2010 on the SAT's (730 Math, 650 Writing, 630 Critical Reading). I received a score of 670 on the Quantitative reasoning section of the GRE general test, and I received a score of 510 on the Verbal section of the GRE general test. I like to Tutor because throughout my Engineering education at Boston University I've found that I've always had a knack for explaining Math, Science, Physics, Calculus, etc., in a way that makes it much easier for people who aren't as inclined towards the math/science fields can understand. Students who aren't introduced to Math and Science properly by their Middle/High school teachers can often build up a phobia towards the subjects that bars the student from successful and highly lucrative careers. I would like to help in any way that I can! I worked as a Research Assistant in Curricular Development at Boston University (Under Professors Hatice Altug and Micheal Smith) for my final year (and the preceding summer) at Boston University. The purpose of these jobs was to develop the laboratory modules for the classes ENG EC 481 (Fundementals of Nanotechnology+Nanomaterials) and ENG BE 437 (Nanometer-Scale Biological Processes in Living Systems). While these jobs gave me irreplacable experience with synthesizing nanomaterials, building optical systems, and performing optical simulations, I also learned a great deal about how to teach a subject effectively, and present it in a manner that can be easily learned and easily retained. I believe that I can apply the skills that I learned from these two particular job positions to tutoring any subject in Math and Science, and to do so in a professional, meticulous, and exemplary manner. I am a PhD student at UDel presently.
