Education
I graduated with an Honors B.A., cum laude, from the University of Delaware in 2013. I majored in History Education and Music and minored in Political Science. My B.A. was also awarded with distinction, having completed a senior thesis on arts integration in elementary social studies instruction. As an undergraduate, I was a recipient of a full merit scholarship named the Eugene du Pont Memorial Scholarship Award. I was also recognized as one of two Outstanding Student Teachers in Social Studies Education by the UD Center for Secondary Education. My academic record as an undergraduate earned me a graduate assistantship at the University of Delaware. I graduated with an M.A. in History in 2015. As a graduate student, I continued my research in arts integration and social studies, and also earned a Certificate in Museum Studies.
Experience
I am a certified teacher in Delaware and New Jersey, and have been teaching for 3 years. My areas of certification include Social Studies, Music, and Special Education. I currently teach World History, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology, and Choral Music at First State Military Academy in Clayton, DE. For the past two summers, I have also been the Math Instructor for the Choir School of Delaware's summer camp, teaching students aged 5 to 12. I have been tutoring since 2011, first being recommended to families by my undergraduate advisor. Since then, have worked with over 50 students ranging in age from 7th grade to undergraduates. Subjects/test prep areas I have tutored include SAT, ACT, PSAT, Praxis I and II, middle school math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, World History, U.S. History (including AP), Spanish I-III, and middle and high school English/Language Arts.
